Check Point Endpoint Security Adds Full Disk Encryption

Check Point Software Technologies Ltd., announced the release of Check Point Full Disk Encryption for Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard—an industry-leading full-disk encryption solution with pre-boot authentication to support Mac operating systems. Check Point Full Disk Encryption enhances data security and supports more end-user platforms than any other solution in the market, from Mac OS X, Windows, Linux, and VMware based systems to Symbian, Windows Mobile, Palm based smartphones and PDAs.

Check Point Full Disk Encryption simplifies the deployment and management of endpoint security by automatically encrypting all hard drive contents, including the operating system and existing, temporary and erased system files. This new level of protection secures enterprises from unauthorized access to corporate information or network attacks, even if the hard drive is physically transferred to another computer. Now with support for Snow Leopard, Check Point enables customers to secure diverse operating systems, significantly improving the implementation and use of full-disk encryption in mixed environments. Check Point Full Disk Encryption also offers centralized deployment, management and logging capabilities to simplify policy administration, streamline compliance and reduce total cost of ownership.

Blue Coat Advances Hybrid Secure Web Gateway

Blue Coat Systems announced that it is expanding its hybrid Secure Web Gateway solution with new Blue Coat ProxySG Series and ProxyAV Series appliances, new cloud-based defenses in the Blue Coat WebPulse service and extended remote user protection through Blue Coat ProxyClient software. The Blue Coat Secure Web Gateway solution is a scalable, hybrid architecture that combines ProxySG and ProxyAV appliances with ProxyClient software and the cloud-based WebPulse service to provide Web awareness and on-demand intelligence about the latest Web threats across the extended enterprise at a lower total cost of ownership.

The new Blue Coat ProxySG 9000 and ProxyAV 1400 and 2400 appliances connect to the WebPulse collaborative cloud defense service to obtain threat intelligence and Web awareness. Innovations in design and processing for the new ProxySG appliances result in a 5X performance improvement over existing appliances. The Blue Coat Secure Web Gateway solution provides the industry’s only centralized device, license and policy management, simplifying the creation and administration of global IT security policies across the extended enterprise. With the addition of identity-based filtering to ProxyClient, the Blue Coat security and application acceleration client software, security administrators can set, enforce and report on unique policies for remote users. This extension of custom filtering policies to remote users delivers protection against Web-based threats and enables compliance, reporting and visibility across the enterprise.

Blue Coat ProxySG appliances now support up to 60,000 users in a single appliance, reducing required rack space by as much as 30 percent versus competitive offerings. For example, four Blue Coat ProxySG 9000 appliances can support 240,000 concurrent users while a comparable competitive configuration can require more than 90 appliances. The resulting reduction in required rack space for the ProxySG appliances can save enterprises as much as $32,000 per month.

New F-Secure Solution Offers Faster, Lighter and Safer IT Security

Newly introduced F-Secure Client Security 9 provides uncompromised protection without slowing down the computer. Corporate desktops and laptops are protected against all online threats significantly faster and with less system impact than ever. This means that businesses can protect their confidential data, prevent the spread of malware in their networks, and block hostile intrusion attempts more effectively, also on the Windows 7 operating system.

According to performance tests by the independent testing organization AV-Test.org, the new version of Client Security has 50% less system impact, is 70% lighter in memory usage, and completes a system scan 50% faster than the previous version. GFI Releases Freeware version of GFI EndPointSecurity

Endpoint security threats are constantly evolving and critical data is lost due to non-existent or ineffective security practices. The proliferation of high capacity thumb drives, smart phones and other portable devices has increased the risk of data leakage and the volume of data that could find its way out of an organization. As part of its WE CARE initiative, GFI Software is giving organizations the ability to monitor and identify endpoint weaknesses in their network in real time through its FREEWARE version of GFI EndPointSecurity.

The commercial version of GFI EndPointSecurity allows organization to not only monitor how endpoints are being used but it allows them to actively manage user access and log the activity of a wide range of portable storage devices. Furthermore, GFI EndPointSecurity helps to prevent data leaks and theft by comprehensively controlling access to these devices with minimal administrative effort; prevent the introduction of malware and other authorized software, and block devices by class, file extensions, physical port or device ID.

Freeze Proximity Security System Now With Trend Micro Internet Security Pro 2010
